“Kristia, mark my words…..”

Nine years ago I got a letter from from an aspiring fitness model by the name of Kristia Knowles. She was going to be visiting New York City with her mom, and asked if she could stop by my studio to introduce herself. When she walked in the door, her beauty was apparent, but when she took her jacket off, her future was obvious.
I remember telling her after seeing her physique, “Mark my words….” that she would be on the cover of Muscle & Fitness within the next twelve months, I think she was on two covers in the next twelve months, with countless others to follow. But the one thing that I will never forget about Kristia was her thoughtfulness. I had cast her in a large production shoot for Muscle & Fitness, a feature called “Tar Beach”. At the end of a long day of shooting on a hot new york building roof top, the other models had already scattered, but Kristia saw that my crew and I had to break down the set. She asked if she could help, and proceeded to clean up the set. No model has ever done that. That is Kristia Knowles.
